Milder weather,log sales slow

Just wondering how the unseasonal weather is affecting log sales as i was flat out this time last year,was busy uptil couple of weeks ago now gone quiet.

I can't speak for log buyers... or sellers... but so far I've not even started on my pile of cord for the winter yet.... I'm normally hammering it by now to get it cut, split and into the store but so far I haven't bothered... So I guess that on that same basis anyone who buys wood in is probably holding off a bit longer...

 

Course then we'll have 3 inches of snow, the roads will close and everyone will want it all yesterday....

Log Sales have died a death at the moment. Luckily wholesale kindling sales are filling the gap for me. Have also heard that the price of cord roadside is falling as purchasers for pulp, chip and board are scaling back over euro worries.

Sold the majority of our wood, I think because so many people were caught out last year, trying in vain to get more wood.

my regular customers are all supplied now, ive sold 8 animal feed bags this month and no enquiries but theres a few people doing cheap,green softwood which i cant compete against so not that bothered at moment.

I sell a fair amount in the new year usualy.

Flat out at the moment. Very busy. At the point where I slump when the phone rings thinking oh no not another one.

Im quite quiet, which i dont mind as thinking i may last to feb until i run out of logs unlike dec last year

Very quiet here luckily as we concentrated on making kindling this summer. I have seen people slash their price locally. I have a large stock of beech which was cut and split a few months ago but its still 30% so will miss this year unless someone knows better.

It started off real slow then picked up now its as dead as a door nail taking 1 cube out this morning and another tomorrow but at the end of last season i let all our reg customers have 2 m3 for 120 as it was part seasoned so they will still be burning that . It will pick up at the end of the month it needs to get colder.
