I've always considered the extra weight of a climbing rig for self rescue to be a hindrance on the SWL, not to mention the space.

There are safety ropes (lightweight & micro diameter) specifically designed for this, that MEWP operators have had access to for years.

Will go through my info and try to post something on distributers on the morrow.

Yes but, if your a regular climber like me you weigh less than the MEWP users, so its not a problem:001_tongue:

So why is smoking legal???????????

And why do Reg's only apply to business????????

Bloody good question! I'm well aware of our differing opinions on personal liberties though and this thread is an attempt to discuss the guidance document (although no-one has actually read it!!!!!) :D

As an individual you are free to engage in activities that are ill advised dangerous or downright suicidal.

In a commercial environment, possibly in control of the activities of others these freedoms are regulated. Much of the regulation comes from the HSE, whose remit only covers the commercial.

Oh..... smoking is legal because it was widespread before the rule of law......Er no wait that’s not right, it’s because it brings HUGE amounts of revenue
