I dont think there is an easy solution. My answer was large polytunnel bobcat concrete base and bund sides. About 15k all in. We did find a half way house with a cheap forklift and ibc containers. Make a drop down flap in the containers. Load the top half in to truck without bending down. When half way down box drop front and raise forklift. Its still hand loading but cuts out the bending which is the killer bit.

So what methods do you use to get wood onto the trailer/transit/whatever, without expensive loaders/machinery. Im tired of loading wood by hand with two other guys, its back breaking and tiring. We do it at least 3 times a week, Im trying to think of other ways, without spending money on dingos, skid steers etc. Any ideas welcomes :)

i use bloc&tackle too load dumpy bags onto defender hicap:thumbup:

Inventive rigging setups from other trees  but dont underestimate the forces involved!

felling stems into the back of trailers can damage the trailer but again, you can controll it with a rigging line

Josh I do this when possible, In fact we loaded the trailer using rigging better then we could have used a loader! And have felled onto the trailer too :001_tongue:

Im not talking about loading firewood, Im talking about big chunks of wood, and my boss ain't spending any money on machinery, he thinks we are machines.

Even a simple winch could be used, to drag the log dolley up some ramps, but we don't have one...
