I don't wear chainsaw gloves, in the summer I rarely wear gloves except when strimming. In the winter, there are warmer, more hard wearing, thorn resistant and more generally comfortable gloves to be had!

As far as I'm concerned, having cold, wet, slippy, scratched hands which are cut resistant is far more of a hazard than having nice warm dry gloves where you can work comfortably, but which won't stop a saw.

must admit i do wear them more as a habit from my utility days than anything else i guess, plus they are way better with the thorns than any of your sticky gloves. I must say they are way overpriced and i should stop buying them i guess.

No never. If anything, I think they are more dangerous than a good modern pair of grippy rubber gloves. They are slippery in the wet, hard and brittle once they've dried out, utterly unnecessary, and 5 times the price of a good rubber and textile glove.

I have cut my hand open (down the side of right hand) when the chain came off a 441 ( I had a chain catcher on) hurt like hell but never cut the back of my hand. I wear normal gloves towa powergrab plus

used to wear them filled with the knowledge that cs31 gave me but now feel they are generally too expensive though make it easier to put the chain brake on when you move about- not so painful on the back of my hand
