Our barrow bags are 0.2 cubic metres each, making 5 barrow bags to a cubic metre.

Average of 80 logs per barrow bag (logs 9" x 4"-5" width/diameter).

That's 400 logs per cubic metre.

1-3 bags...........£25 each

4 or more..........£22 each

free delivery up to 10 miles, minimum order £100

Bags tipped out and re-used

I deliver all my loads on trailers and sell them as approx 1m3,counted a few times for customers who want to split a load. roughly 310-330 8"-10" logs on my loads. Theres 2 guys local to me advertise as 1 cube of logs equates to 250 logs me thinks there using smaller builders bags:confused1:might ring them to find out and just put them right rather than weights and measures visiting them:sneaky2:. Their no real competetion as the one's just arb waste and the other supplies shite (unseasoned) wood :001_rolleyes:

Thanks Phil

Things must be quite if you have time to count logs. When the snow hits we dont have time to count the loads let alone the logs. Things are slow here the recession and weather I dont think are helping. :001_smile:

Thats interesting cos i've been saying the same for the last two weeks! Its just a trickle.

phil what is wrong with arb waste? i know who you are talking about tho in our area.

Nowt wrong with arb arisings it's just not as presentable as split cord:001_smile: if it's dry arb arisings that is:confused1:as i saw some lovely wet conifer at a pub i now deliver to,this was last season and they wondered why they were struggling to burn it.

There's loads playing at it around here for the first few winter months then run out.

I was getting more at the count/volume of logs rather than arb arisings.

Thanks Phil

good evening

really random queston but has anybody counted how many logs are in a cubic meter , as i have a cilent who insists knowing how many logs she would get from a cubic meter ! dont you love customers !

many thanks 33 bk

Entered a competition at the Firewood auction held near Morpeth last month to guess the number of logs in the bag (1m3), I didnt win, but was very close, 3 out, I think the answer was around 245. I have counted 360 logs approx. in a 1.5m load and just based my answer on that.
