one of our customers has bought one came factory fitted with the chain on the wrong way looked like a crappy poor stihl lookalike

i bought a mitox locally, the first outing was a disaster as they had carelessly left a screw in the flywheel which jammed it up ,poorly made and poorly assembled, I have used it three times but I am fed up with having to return home to get my old and trustworthy maccullock to complete the job, the mitox was bought to replace the aged maccullock but it is not fit for purpose

Look at the resale value 10 year old Huskys and Stihls still make good money - parts readily available, non OEM parts available including sprockets - well made, solid powerful.......

 

Have it fail on a job and you may lose the cost of the saw each day it isn't running

Dont get me wrong here, I am not suggesting all you pro users get a MItox, but TBH they are pretty good. I have sold quite a few now and have very little trouble.

 

They have an Oregon Bar and chain, and a genuine Walbro Jap carb. They have a 2yr warranty and are fully supported by spares.

 

I sold a 60cc to a local firewood contractor over a year ago and he loves it.

 

As regards one of the previous posts that a saw came from factory with the chain on backwards, well thats rubbish, as the saws dont fit in the box with the bar on. Its the dealer that puts the bar on, so blame him.

From what i can make out through google translate according to italians they are decent.

1 year on the saw is still going strong. All and sundry have used it and ragged it hard.

No problems so far. 1 years warranty to go. They are making a stronger version slightly lighter, more powerfull with magnesium crankcases.

Its good to hear your thoughts a year on and that you have had a positive experience.

 

The difference between the Mitox and other chinese saws are that

1, they are built to the importers spec

2, the importer is one of the best, if not the best, distributor of garden machinery in the UK.

3, Mitox saws are only sold by specialist independant machinery dealers.

4. They have a 2yr warranty.

So although the saw is not of the quality of the Pro user saws such as Stihl, Echo and Husqvarna, it is nonetheless an excellent value for money saw for those on a limited budget.

An owner can be assured that if it does go wrong, it can be repaired by a professional dealer with 100% spares backup from a reputable UK based distributor.

 

This cannot be said of many chinese saws.

Looking at the brand I had thought this manufacturer were like all the rest of them but having listened to Barries explanation and looked a bit more in to it, it would seem they do sit somewhere between the bad Chinese kit and the pro kit offering value, not up to the quality of pro kit but suitable for a bit of abuse:thumbup:

 

Glad to hear it is still working and that our fears were not realised, my introduction to "Zomax" Chinese saws wasn't good with every part breaking or showing signs of wanting to break so glad to have a bit of feeback on along term test.

Be interesting to see how this one turns out - The 62cc saw would be better with a 18-20" bar - I usually use the 1/3 of the cc for the bar length so 1/3rd of 60cc = 20":thumbup:
