Dito here,would climb the bugger, but hey, if a client payed out for a MEWP, I'd have a go, big boys toys and all that....but not cutting a tree from it, just to see how high it went and see what the view was like.

 

Got a great leaning pop' to do in a couple of weeks, same harsh lean, with a hedge to avoid underneath, will get some pics and maybe a vid on here when I do it....looking forward to getting those spikes on!

i would of climbed it as there was no lowering involved

Guess its one of those things where ya have to be there. None of us can tell just from that pic....though got a good idea it would have been fine as long as you don't have a go at bungee jumping from it!

Don't say that Ed, the more that wont climb it the better, if every one else is going to add the cost of a MEWP to jobs like this, I can add the price of a MEWP, not use one and be quids in!!

I call my usual MEWP bloke down the road and arrange my own for a week later. We spend the day deadwooding beech and get paid for a full day. LIke I say its my best client!

Surely if you climbed it and you had more than your body wieght off it the tree wouldnt be goin anywhere.
