Bodean's Video?

Lots of false crotching, snapped the rope twice

on some lower stuff.

What happened, did it just burn out?

You used 2 rigging points, why?

Was that the GRCS drill-thing that hauled you back up to the top?

Nice video indeed, always a pleasure.

Some tall trees in your area....would be great if you had, or could perhaps borrow a helmet-camera. That way you could record and also share some of the views from up there, I'll bet there's some stunning scenery to take in.....and of course we'd all love to check out your work up close:cheers:

Used 2 rigging points to float/drift the brush to the chipper/parking lot. We had to protect the drop zone.

Yeah, after lunch it was already set-up so they hauled me up, easy peasy. We used a generator with a hole hawg drill.

I'd like to check out a helmet cam someday.

I like allmark's helmet cam vids, like the 9' willow removal is a Great one.

Ok, probably wont make myself any friends here; but whats with the one handed saw use @ 2.30 all about?

Especially from a MEWP

I do enjoy the vids Bodean, but the experienced have a duty to act professionally/responsibly in front of the the less experienced on open forums like these.

Yours and others work shown here and elsewhere are an inspiration to many, IMO a little more work on the editing front is needed to tighten up on what otherwise is source of enjoyment and education.

I'm probably guilty of the occasional lapse/over confidence in technique myself from time to time and would expect the same heads up from fellow forumers, if my posts showed anything untoward.

Hope my insignificant rant does not put you off posting again.

I certainly would be sent to Coventry or worse, by the upper echelons here if you take too much offence by this

I don't think there is any thing wrong with that cut, most of the cut was done with both hands and only the finishing touch was one handed, which looked sencible to me,the other hand was well a way and the saw was at arms length.

It looked to me that the reson for the "one handing" was to keep well back from the branch and to hold on to the MEWP.

That's the exact reason it is done, to get as far away from the branch as possible.

I even lean out of the bucket or have one hand on the slew button and one hand cutting. As sson as the branch starts to move slew away from it.

One hit from a branch in a MEWP and your dun for.

See your point Monkeyd, but there is a reason for everything. It is against the written down way of doing things yes, but most of them that do the writing aren't in the bucket at 95ft

nothing wrong with that whatsoever IMO....monkeyd makes a valid point though, as an inexperienced climber/student will not necessarily appreciate the reasons for the one handing, so not a futile discussion by any means.

great vid deva

Spot on!!!:icon14::wave:

What is a MEWP?

New climbers should never one hand until you get

enough experience and wisdom to know when you can.

Getting cut is forever. Be careful.

Huh?

My editing?

I'm a better climber/faller than an editor.

Not trying to be cheeky, :):):)

Glad you all enjoyed it.

Take Care, Have Fun.

'Til next time.

I'm getting more footage as we speak.

I need a higher quality video camera than just

my canon elf 500.

Que sera, sera.
