Sick of taking away small loads from jobs and thinking about doing my Hgv licence so i can use bigger Vehicle.

Whats the plus and negs of going from 3.5t to 7.5t tipper?

I think a 7.5 tonner is more reliable as it is more suited to the work we do.This may be because it is less likely to be over loaded in the course of a days work.

As Mike has said - 7.5 Ton trucks do tend to be alot more reliable and less likely to overload BUT i most of your work is domestic then it may prove to be a little more awkward to get into driveways etc , also having soeone who can drive it if your not at work or off sick may prove awkward nowadays

i done my c licence(class 2) and now i can drive anything rigid. only problem was then i had to do a seperate cpc test. which means you cant drive for hire and reward without it. now im having to do my atric c+e i think so i can tow a chipper legally. and then really u want someone else with a hgv licence plus cpc for when your not working. and if you havnt already got an o licence you have to apply and have so many thousands in your bank for 2 months i think to prove you can keep up with payment. its all a bit of a headache BUT very usefull for weight. especially site clearence or conifers.

well worth doing if you have the time and money to keep up with the law's of it all.

it seems easier in a 3.5 tonne truck really.
