Very possibly lack of compression. When cold you have enough to start it but when warm, it drops to a low enough compression to stop it starting - had machines like that before. Do a compression check when warm and make sure it is 140+.

 

 

 

Other than that, it may be carb settings but less likely.

 

 

Cheers Spud. I don't have the kit (or know how) to go into pressure testing so I'm left with a choice. Send it your way and hope it isn't effed, or...

 

... Sell my two ground saws (038super and 056super) and buy a husqy 390.

 

Apparently it's lighter that a 038 Super, so could be my day to day ground saw on a 20", but if ported could run a 36" too when needed

Been working on an MS200T that the crank bearings had let loose on, measured up the crank and all seemed fine.....wrong:thumbdown: What I had thought was a machined relief around the base of one of the shafts was in fact where the bearing rollers had perfectly ground a groove in the shaft as pointed out by the yellow arrow.

 

Fortunately I have a couple of spares so will use the best of the two!

I could have told you that. Only had to ask :001_tt2::biggrin:

 

Seen that before and I did ask if there was any measurements about of a wear limit on the cranks. But found nothing.

There is normally no wear at all on the bearing lands of a crank, or any other shaft supported by ball (or roller) bearings as the inner race is a push fit on the shaft and all wear is taken by the race.

 

But if the bearing siezes and spins the inner race on the shaft then wear will result immediately.

 

There are no wear limits published, because any wear at all is unnacceptable as a new bearing will simply not grip the shaft.

- Delivering and demonstrating new machines to customers

- Assembling, running and preparing machines for sale

 

The right person will:

- Have experience working with a range of garden machinery

- Have basic PC skills and be confident to learn the in-house invoicing system

- Know how to use a computer-based parts lookup system (experience of Stihl MediaCat, Barrus Dial, Husqvarna systems would be advantageous)

- Have a clean driving licence (will be required to drive company van)

- Have a good telephone manner and customer service skills

 

You will join a growing family-run company of 18 based in Sydenham, South-East London.

 

Salary will be based on skills and experience.

Typically Barrie, you are spot on but the MS200 uses a crank bearing that has no inner ball race and is like a roller bearing with cylindrical rollers in just an outer race. The bearing went completely tits up and ground a slot out of the crankshaft that looked like original machining to me but obvious once assembled with new bearings or when compared to a good shaft!

 

I should have asked our Fountain of all knowledge - AKA Rich but he was contemplating his navel fluff whilst sitting on the bog - so his other half said:lol:
