Sounds about right, I have a "Staff Only" sign on my workshop:thumbup:

 

I'm going for the opposite approach and trying to teach my daughters the basics of chainsaw maintenance. Firstly, they have small fingers and can get in to all the fiddly bits. Secondly, the sooner they can earn their keep the better

I would have laughed. But then I would also have been sat in a and e with a dog sticking out of my head.

On my bench today is a husqvarna 240R strimmer that my mother (age 72) decided to use over the weekend with straight petrol (no 2 stroke oil)! Aaarrrrrrhhhhh!!!! She realised her error after about 10 minutes when the machine cut out and wouldn't restart.

 

The piston isn't seized, and moves freely in the barrel, but it won't start for toffee. Any advice would be most welcome ;-\ Some sons do have em ;-)

The cylinder will need cleaning of aluminum transfer and a new piston fitted, lots on this thread on how to do it!

It'll be scored to hell, you'll definitely need a new piston, hopefully the cylinder is rescueable

This found it's way to my bench after it was pulled from a skip (not by me).

Got the Danarm running ok with the exception of a cold starting issue.

 

Notices the AV's are on their last legs but having problems finding spares. Can't even find a G380 model on Danarm website!

 

Any ideas where to look?
