Stripped down the low compression ms210.

I had taken a peek through the exhaust port and couldn't see any scoring etc but strip down confimed a nice bore and piston with no scoring or fouling...

Bit of a headscratcher, def not compression tester at fault as checked it on another known saw plus the 210 was to easy to pull over.

However the bottom cover/sump plate did have an egg cup of fuel in it so the bore would be lube free/dry so to speak plus the rings seem to be lacking a good "springyness" but functioning right and not sticking.

Got a new set of rings and seals on there way so will stick it back together once they arrive, enough to do a compression check before the saw gets built up properly just to see if that cures it.

Anyone think of any other possibilitys? The sump did have white sealer which suggest someones been inside it before as its normally the red dirko. Cant tell if the piston is oe or not (no markings on it) but the cylinder certainly is the original.

Rather you than me Rich. Hope you can get spares ok for it!

Well. Funny you should say that.

Its all there. There is a cover missing for the throttle in the gearbox side. A round cover, but I'm sure I can make one for it. Made worse things.

And of course the side mirrors. But these are basic Honda threaded ones. Can get them down the road.

It starts on second kick, starter isn't working, so going to strip it and see of its just gunked or not. But not worried over it as the kick start works perfectly.

These bikes the kick start is on the gear lever, so if it doesn't quiet work it will throw the bike into gear and get stuck, the bike will then lurch forward.:lol:

It just needs stripping down to framework, blasting and re painting, the wheels need re doing, and the seat needs re doing.

After much umming and ahhing, and watching spuds videos, I decided to tweak my 357, just got to get the muffler modded now, I have done the cylinder, fired it up, and it runs fine, so I'll retune it next week

Riing ding ding de ding......cough splutter wheeze......kating ting ......etc.

Looks a fun project!:thumbup1:

It goes like stink. Just run it up the road, can't believe how fast it was. Of course its too old to have a restriction in it, and if it did it would have been a block bolted into the throttle housing that acts like a rev limiter.

This is does not have.

So starting Monday its getting stripped down, some welding to do with the exhaust, indicator to put weld back on at the bracket broke.

And other than sanding and painting the parts to start with. Then it will be everything after to bring it back to a good looking machine.

Not sure I'm going to chrome the exhaust again, might just give it some custom paint.

The wheels are being chromed but that might just be it.
