There is proper detergent available for US cleaners, which you mix with water. This reduces the surface tension of the water enabling the US cavitation process to work closer to the object, as well as softening deposits. It is important to have one that is safe for aluminium.

I personally would not use white spirit due to the fire risk it poses. especially when heated, as these devices tend to run unattended.

Just adds to the fun - good thing I don't smoke although I have set the old bench alight in the past - thats brazing for you:001_rolleyes::lol:

Thanks Spud - appreciate the time you're giving here.

Quick one - what is that red ended thing you use to plug the carb hole when pressure testing - looks like the end of a garden hose??

OPEN QUESTION - Do other people use something other than white spirit?

Thats my light sabre, it is a perfect fit..........nah, it is really a permanent marker that fits in to the MS200 carb boot perfectly to form an air tight fit.

Stihl will probably charge you a fortune for such a thing, I try to get something that does the same job for a fraction of the price:thumbup::lol:

Gt some stihl saws in that need some new safety stickers. They are being used for some assessments so need to be on there.

Anyone know the prices and where to get them from? It's for a ms280 and an ms260.

Probably be the last thing you see as the saw kicks back and clatters you across the side of your head:blushing::lol:

I have looked for them after an ebay sale where an 18 year old inspected my refurbed saw only to complain these stickers wern't on there! Think the fact that it actually had a chain catcher and working chain brake was missed on him!
