Was having a cracking day today until the main shaft decided to part company with the engine on my long reach pole pruner which has been until now faultless for 7years old .

Did one of these that had done the same and it just went back together again relatively easy - looks like your shaft is a bit bent though - and the one on the machine:001_tt2:

Called in on my local Stihl dealer to price a new drive shaft and low and behold they have one in stock collecting dust from a canceled order so i am waiting for a price now

 

They have printed me the parts and assembly pics too and one of the 2 springs have gone AWOL .

Had a very testing MS200T today, it started with a crisp rev and idle, went to boggy and crap and then after a good clean, wouldn't idle at all.

 

I pressure and vac tested it, perfect, then the saw started workinng and then not. It seemed the low speed was bad so got to the conclusion, the low speed jets had some crud in them so pulled the welch plug and bingo - a piece of crusty black stuff under the plug.

 

Cleaned and fitted a new one and it now seems OK but time will tell!

I have a 200 t and it only revs to 7500 rpm any ideas?was thinking of fitting a new carb as tuning don't help .all seems clean inside.jake

You are not getting enough fuel, sounds like the check valve is blocked - take the H screw out, get some carb cleaner down it and try that.
