I wouldnt bother with waipoua, have a pair issued from work and too low in the crotch and too short in the leg (alright im long in the leg) but the upshot is reduced movement and flexibility which becomes an issue when climbing. If you hitch them right up or wear them with braces then they end up a bit half mast above thetop of my boot...might be a unique problem to taller folk but other guys at work also find then heavy and chaffing to wear....

 

but, try out a few pairs, my experience might be totally different to yours.

trying the new SIP Freedom 1, purley because they're half the price of stretch airs, 5 months in, and they're wearing BETTER than my last pair of stretch airs. i think they look smarter too

These threads keep going because new kecks hit the market now and again.

 

There are some golden rules-

1) We are all different, so try before you buy where possible

2) Paying VAT on what is blatantly PPE is a disgrace

3) Hiflex are comfy, but look like tramps pants in about 2 weeks

 

I haven't tried the SIP Progress, but have heard good things. I'll stick with Stretch Airs, though. Yes, they are ridiculously overpriced at say £250, but do the maths.

 

I'll easy get 2 years from a pair at a conservative 200 days a year.

 

62.5p per day for being as comfy as possible - bargain!

Sips progress are good long lasting value for money option, unlike the stretch airs they don't have boot hooks so if you wear short boots like the zermatts or new steins they ride up and fill your boots with dust, but for the price and construction I can live with that!!

Did'nt know that "Next" did saw pants!

 

Tried and tested, I've just bought a new pair of Hi-Flex to replace my old ones. I just can't justify in my own heed, the cost of a pair of stretch's. To be fair though I did'nt really look at anything else, with maybe the exception of a pair of Steins, which looked OK but being so new had no pedigree, and I did'nt fancy being a test guinea pig!

Hiflex 6 months (I've had 8 pairs).

 

Stretch Airs 2 years.

As much as i love stretch airs at well over 200 quid i'm not sure i'll get another pair. It's not that i don't mind paying alot for good shizz its just thats silly money compared to others. plus the stitching is still crappy.

I'm all for looking flash doing the work but don't want to buy a pair that will fall to bits. I've heard good reviews and not so good about the ones I'm interested in. 4 years out of this current pair of hiflex ain't so bad, I mustn't be working hard enough?

 

I'll save up for some 2011 stretchies I think, and get them in a way to save vat!
