OK, I'll bite...

anyone that thinks those trees could have been dropped from the ground is a moron.. as is anyone that thinks its a good idea to drop a 80' pine tree through a hedge and across a driveway on a $10-20 million estate, as is anyone that thinks its a good idea to climb, cut and rig such a structurally compromised tree, as is anyone that thinks that pine top could have barber chaired with the blue lines wrapped around the trunk, just above the cut, as is anyone that thinks the camera man was in harms way... you can count the 10 paces he took after the fall, to get anywhere near the block.

I was thinking the same thing .. no way could that tree have been 80'.. But I measured it, the top that I cut was just under 40' and the final stick was just over 40'.. there was an overlap between the piece that blew out and the top I cut, of 20' or more, where the trunk split.

do you think I would have gone to the trouble of climbing and dropping them from the hooks, when I could have cut from the ground? Use some sense... there were reasons that may not have been apparent on video.. if you don't have the sense to see that, then I don't have the patience to humor your stupidity.

That must put me in the moron category then.

When I was assessed for CS33, on a multi-million £ Estate, I felled an 80' tree through a gap in a hedge 30' away, that was the width of the trunk, because the assessor bet me I couldn't do it.

He called me a clever ****, and passed me as competant. :laugh1:

I like a bit of showboating now and again too, but I don't have a video camera...... :001_rolleyes:
