Gecko climbers

is anyone using the geckos and if so which gaffs do you prefer? i bought mine with the original gaffs on but eventually changed to the more conventional straight gaffs. I'm more comfortable on the straight gaffs but found the angled gaffs came in handy, specially on thicker barked trees or ivy covered.

mine are, but regardless, the aluminium ones have tje same gaff

the original gaffs are rediculous!!!!! i found that the originals just had too much angle on them for any ''normal tree'' would come into there own on a sequoia..

they just take some getting used to thats all....if you've climbed on regular gaffs for several years like i had, theres a whole lot of muscle memory that needs to be forgotten and re-learned

But seriously, out here you need huge gaffs for

Redwoods, Firs, Monterey pines etc.

jesus!!!! mine are about due to be renewed, bin sharpened that many times now, but i like them to be sharpe as knifes

im on the original spikes. i like them, they did take some getting used to though.

I tried Pete Mctree's the other day. Really liked the top pad design, and pete has replaced the 'funny' gaffs with conventional ones. I have the Titanium bashlins, but I would like to retro fit them with the Gecko pads. Prefer my buckles to the bottom velcro pads.

i tried pete mctrees when he first got them so presume on original gaffs and i liked the gaffs but wasnt convinced on the straps
