Oregon PowerSharp - anyone using it?

I used it for hedgelaying as they'd built up a rubble track against the hedge, as well as stapled rabbit-wire to it. I used up two chains in 3 days and was left quite dissapointed. It never got even close to being as sharp as a proper chain and seemed to get blunt much faster, or perhaps I should say "unusably blunt" as it does sharpen really fast, but as soon as you've held it near a nail, or showed it some brick-dust it's proper blunt again straight away.

It's hanging on the wall, on one of those rusty nails, next to the spent silky-blades etc.

I've found it handy for things like finished the cut on a big log that's on the ground and too big to roll.

 

It does suffer hitting nails and dirt and then takes 2 or 3 sharpens to get it cutting again (but even then feels dull until after the next 2 or 3 sharpens).

 

But still think it's a good thing to have in the armory.

Sounds like you should try using a Carbide chain since the material your trying to cut is better suited for that type of chain.

i use one for fencing, its handy for taking down old fences as there is always a nail you hit, it does not get as sharp as a normal chain but i like it, i also use it to cut the odd root.

As rob says handy to have in the armory.

Just got my freebie, by courier no less. Should fit the T200, anyone used one up in the tree as opposed to fencing and hedge laying??

My mum and wife have received theirs. Mine, my dads and the mils haven't turned up yet though.

As meatloaf would say though 2 outta 5 ain't bad :-)

Mine arrived today. Free pair of gloves included as well. No sure if the girlfriend's parents have recieved theirs yet.
