Navara problems - anyone else any experience with them?

Hi Big J. I have heard of alot of problems with the new navara's. My mate pulls a cattle trailer its fine going forward but everytime he reverses he needs 4wd L as it keeps going through clutches also bottom ends seem to be a problem. My cousin has a Navara thats chipped never had any issues, usually jap motors are pretty reliable, I run 2 hilux's and touch wood never had any bother they do seem a little basic compared to other 4x4's on the market but I have no complaints.

If you get to the end and still no luck. Hire one of those advertising trailers and list all the faults you have had and the dealers names. Park it out side Nissan Uk. Tv regional centres where the camera points, out side the dealers etc tell the local papers and get them to photograph. I had a new transit for two years it was dreadfull a similar stunt on a Ford corporate day at Thruxton race circuit did the trick.

I had a basic w reg hilux dc on lease hire for 5 months while I had the new navara on order. I actually waited 5 months for the outstanding new navarra to arrive ( little did I know ). The hilux had nearly 200k on the clock and was wrecked but I thought it was great. I now have an s reg with nearly 200k on the clock which is wrecked it starts on the button and does the job and actually has a much better feeling of quality ( the bits left we have not smashed off that is )

Very much the same issue here. I'm often pulling 2.5 tonnes or more and reversing is very difficult due to the high gearing. It needs 2wd low range.

 

Great idea Steve - I'll hold onto that one as a last resort!

 

Good news everyone though - it's not broken down since last week at all!

Airbag light has been blinking for about a week until today.....at which point it was joined by the engine malfunction light

 

So, going back to the garage on Friday (I believe the 5th time now, not including the 2 RAC recoveries). I have about 7k miles to go until the first service, which I am going to be insisting is done for free on the basis that I've lost really quite a lot of time to a brand new vehicle.

Turned out that the engine malfunction light was a knackered glowplug relay, so it went in again this morning to have that changed (trip to garage number 6).

 

Not three hours had gone by and the light was back on again so I just called the lease company. I want a different car. Not a Navara.

Shocking. There's a lot of them on the road, you'd think they would have got it right by now.

Yep, all trips to garage/breakdowns and faults are recorded. Anyone any recommendations for something to angle for as a replacement?
