Big beech takedown

Recommended Posts

Why does it have to come down?

Forgot to ask that. I'm sitting in for Dave Humphreys during his move. I heard customs stopped him at Ipswich and accused him of importing riots into Norfolk from London. Sad. I liked him.

the kids need a nintendo 3DS each ?

I've seen you climb Tone, and you are quick.

But there isn't a ground crew could keep up with what you rigged down in that DZ, chip it, shift the cord and be ready for the stick (which would have to be sectioned, not felled) by 12.

That's BS and we all know it.

I could have the whole tree on it's arse by 8.45 if I turned up at 8.30, but that's not the point is it?

mark, that is the second time since i met you that you have called me a Bull shitter:lol:

Me and Thee need to work together on a BIG ONE:thumbup1:

They couldn't give me a definitive answer to that when i asked them, there is a drain manhole cover about 2m from the base, so i asked them the obvious..........it wasn't a concern, in the end they just said the leaves will block the guttering...........they also want all the smaller trees and shrubs from around the border of the property out, it's a nice mature garden, so i asked them why, especially as it will show the nice concrete panel fence of to its most beautiful...........all out !!!............so i figured its not my argument !!

I'd love to get together on a big takedown anywhere in the Southeast with you Tone, you know that.

But it would take more than a day, my friend, to leave a decent standard of finish on that job.

My opinion, the way I'd do it.:thumbup1:

The only person that's realistic with this is Mr Blair.:thumbup1:

I can't believe the one day heroes! The raking, sweeping etc will take three men 1hr. All this conjecture based on two poor photos and mention of a drain is stupid!:001_tongue:

Buy a Stein Dual or GRCS, price it in, then add £600 'cos it will take longer than you think. Lot of fuel as well.

Tell them you'll knock £100 off the bill as you can sell the firewood, knowing you can sell it for £200.

Curry was mentioned. That means they'll be after the cheapest possible price, cash only and will get 11 quotes before they don't have it done.

If by some miracle it happens, photo EVERYTHiNG as the tiniest crack on a fence or shrub will get them talking of £250 discounts!

:laugh1:

Four blokes' date=' three trucks, [b']two[/b] of which is making two journeys.

For £834 plus vat. :001_huh:

No wonder the jobs on its arse.

With Tom D's well observed correction....

no I said 1k VAT is NEVER included:sneaky2:

No one is saying it can't be done in a day with the right guys and equipment, Hama.

However, if you have estimated that this operation requires the resources and set up involving four staff and three vehicles to run and maintain, then £1000 plus vat is way too cheap, IMO.
