Anyone got any ideas as too how hot the meindl air streams are in the heat? hotter or cooler than klima airs? cheers

Reckon they would be cooler as you can remove all the padding from the tongue, purely hypothetical as we have no warm weather here, just unending damp slush.

Although i am not taking mine on holiday to find out

had numerous boots since starting in this game many moons ago and as such have seen plus and bad points too many different makes. elten felsman's although cheap and a pig to break in are great for climbing as they are light and flexible but only last a short period before falling apart and uncomfortable for any period on spikes. Lavoro aquafell were really comfy all round but unfortunately found after 8 - 12 months the steel midsole somehow managed to cut it's way through the sole and out the side (happened to 2 pairs) no risk boots were crap lasted about 6 months and finally Haix trekker mountain boots have been really comfy from day one and goretex are good but find that spikes have a tendancy to slide backwards off the heel and the rubber rand has now split so the sole is coming away and goretex no longer keeps feet dry. haix lasted about 6 months so am not happy. have like the look off klima-air's for ages but very expensive and also now like the look of the meindl air boots can't decide which to get.

I had some of them but found them no so comfy on spikes.

Point taken they are a bit thin on the sole if your chogging down, but when I was on the powerlines fultime they were the business for long walks with your kit along the lines.

Only had one pair that didn't last the year but that was due to 12 months on ballast on the railways.

Ive had 4 pairs of different boots elten, oregon,a pair of bright orange ones wich i cant remember thier name but they were ok and a pair of no risk they last on average 10 to 12 months and all around 100 quid mark if your climbing a lot they all seem to average the same time and they are comfy why spend a fortune to get the same time span out of them IMO
