Tragic News

I have just learned this morning that an old friend was killed yesterday.

 

Robert (Bob) Holmes from Queensbury near Bradford was a seasoned Arborist, he had been in the job 30+ years and was my inspiration to become a tree surgeon.

 

I have known Bob all my life and he was careful in everything he did. Only last week he mentioned his batteries were goosed on his Mog and he would have to get them sorted.

 

It turns out Bob was attempting to jump start the mog yesterday. How or what exactly happened I dont know as details are sketchy, but the mog was in gear when it started and Bob was crushed to death. It sounds as though he was crushed either between the mog and the car infront he was jumping off or the mog ran over the car infront that Bob was sat in.

 

I'll try and update as I find out more.

 

Bob has worked hard in a tough industry from leaving school, I will always remember him showing off to us doing his footlocking he had just learned at college.

 

It's a shame that you have worked hard all your life to acheive a decent standard of living for it to be snuffed out in a breath. He had just moved house and had been doing small renovations to it, with a recent new partner.

 

If there is a God Bob, let him bless you mate
