Our kwickchip 222 was stolen over the weekend. From indespension trailers in Derby.

We sent it in to have a look at the tow hitch..

They apparently ram raided the gates and lifted it into a truck as it had no hitch! Nothing else was taken...

It has a nearly new lombordini engine, a turn table, elongated dischage shute

(different from the one in this pick) and CTS engraved with a dremmell in lots of places all over. There is also a fist sized hole in the fiberglass on one side.

bad news mate.....is it covered on their insurance?

Hope so. But as it is an old machine what will they give us for it? It had a new engine with probably less then 50 hrs on it and we have looked after and maintained it for the last 7 years, so know it's not been abused!

Thats bad news pal, hope their covering its loss.

Remember that when the insurance make you an offer, it is that an offer and you can refuse it and they will go away and think about it. They may come back with the same offer or more.

I had a chipper nicked in 2003, they offered £8700, i said no and they come back a week later and offered £9000.

Worth a try as far as i'm concerned.

Just been on my trusty mountain bike and have seen a machine which fits the description of yours . Although the one I saw had a black elongated shoot and the rest of the shoot is orange . Couldnt see a hole in the side . Not a common site these extended shoots and it was made in the same fashion as the model in the pic . PM .

The elongated shute was black and welded on the underside, (I know of at least one other that had a longer shute as they are a messy chipper without) on the stolen machine although not orange (the one in the picture above had an accident with a tree). The hole in the side would not be seen without a close look. It also does not have the air filter sticking out the side either...

The insurance company are taking their time..... asking for invoices for everything done to it and value in our "assets register."
