A flat spade, brickies trowel, secatures, wood chisel. Also a dust mask and goggles as there will be 15 years of crud in there.

I've had some thats been a pain but also had some thats peeled off in a big sheet. Good luck:001_smile:

did this once at request of house owner. We had a landrover with us he suggested we cut it at the bottom and then tie it to the tow bar and pull it off. So I suggested he sign a piece of paper to that effect which he did. We then proceeded with his idea and it all came off in one go along with most of the render on his pine end. :laugh1:

Those 'flat' bars that Stanley make are great for this. Think they're called Fatmax?

Easy to between the wall and big branches and get plenty of leverage

I prefer doing it when it's living and always work up from the bottom.

Spent half a day clearing ivy last week and the next morning had sore throat and cough.I've only just shaken the cough off - could be coinsidence but there was a lot of dust coming off it.May be worth watching out for it.

Same here nasty.

Prune the Ivy House in Hamilton almost every year. At the end of every job I wished I wore a mask or hosed down.

Absolutely brutal!
