Bloody hell the company i work for does a transit load which is 2.5m3 for £95 for seasoned hardwood

Strikes me that there is some money to be made here, assuming they have a teleporter or similar then go down with a 40 foot artic tipper trailer. That would probably hold 70 cu m ( 40' x 8' x 8 foot tall = 2560 cu ft = 73 cu meters approx) Transport above maybe 30 or 40 miles would kill it though unless you have your own. 'Seasoned' though might want more drying as well and no means of bulk loading would also kill it.

I am going to try for £120 a cube this winter, other guys over here seem to be £110 - £130. We can but try, i sure dont want to be starting a price war! I have to much experience of these and they do not do anyone any good!

Also doing builders bags as well as a huge range of other products.

Had a chap flashing his lights at me today, thinking there was something wrong I pulled over, got out and he pulled in behind me, "how much are yer logs mate", £80 a cube says I. "Whats that then", well it's a metre square, you know, height, length, width. "Oh like a ton bag", yes :001_rolleyes: "Evans at ******* is doing them at £30 a bag", I said "so thats where you'll be getting yer wood from then, all the best, jumped in me pick up and started to drive off, "I'll keep yer number, I only live down the road from you" he shouts as I pull away, "you do that", I said, but if he thinks I'm coming down to £30 a bag, what a joke!

I had someone phone me last winter asking for the price of logs .. I was stood in a dark snowy field with a 17.2 horse in one hand and the phone in the other.. I quoted £100 for 5 Barrow bags of hardwood and he said that he could get them for £40. I said that I would buy them for that if he wanted to give me the persons address. He phoned a week later and ordered from me saying that the other person had let him down. Months later he came over to me in Asda and said `You sold me some logs and they are the best we have ever had`:thumbup:
