I hope the owner had some sort of inspection regime in place.

I just read it, very sad indeed. However I love the Daily Mails take on it -

"Girl, 13, crushed to death by a falling branch as she sat on park bench on the day her teachers went out on strike" So don't worry, it was the teachers fault.

Not having enough funds isn't a good enough argument....!

 

Mid afternoon, no significant winds on a reasonably warm day after a few scorchers maybe it was summer branch drop and if so is there a negligence claim ?

 

Thoughts go to the family etc

 

As with the striking teachers that meant she wasn't in the place she should be I hope they are happy with there actions !

Your welcome to your opinion but I believe that she wouldn't of been there I it wasn't for the striking teachers ! You can't argue against that surely. Any incident that happened to any child that couldnt be in school on the day of the strike is due to the teachers !

if that limb has just sat there split ready to drop for years, unnoticed, somebody should be accountable.

 

From the poor quality photo on the BBC news website it looks like a Poplar, which is unsurprising really.

Your welcome to your opinion but I believe that she wouldn't of been there I it wasn't for the striking teachers !

 

No SHE might not of been there if it wasn't for the strike, but she could have been there on a school trip if there was no strike and also somebody else could of quite easily been sitting under that tree having lunch/pic nic and there would of still been a tragic accident.
