'Never let the truth get in the way of a good story'. The press and the truth are nothing to do with one another; accept that, whether you like it or not, and you'll sleep easier though I fully understand the affront you feel as you're personally involved.

Ignore them - you won't change them because 'a gang of professional tree surgeons safely coppiced some potentially dangerous trees today' doesn't sell papers.

if the bloke in the picture is a local councillor, i feel sorry for you Ben as he looks like a typical nimby councillor. I have met his likes before when the leeds festival moved from temple newsam to bramham park which was about ten minutes from the local councillors house and he was saying that the disruption and crime that the event would bring to the village would be disastrous. About twelve years later and the event is still running at bramham park with hardly any disruption to the village and no crime apart from the odd speeding taxi.

Dont you just love the general public? i wouldnt let it get to you too much. The people obviously dont know what they are on about and just see it as a reason to moan. Aslong as you got paid and the council are happy with the work then who cares what anyone else says.

Brilliant! Members of the public proclaiming "there was nowt wrong with them trees!" how do they know?! Experts on trees, are they?!

These situations upset me because they are avoidable. The LA should have put out a press release and carried out some PR work to inform the expert public as to why this is necessary.

Then there are no knee jerk reactions, by jerks.

If I was the contractor involved, I would now get interviewed by the local rag to get my point across, but make double sure not to be misquoted.
