Looking for inspiration on vans for outdoor stuff. I’ll wager plenty of people here climb, paddle, bike, surf etc. Pictures and a brief description of facilities and how they work out for your use please.

this is my 30 yr old bedford ambulance. here's a photo of it a couple of months ago, looks different now with a new paintjob instead of the reflective strip. It has a sofa bed (just a normal living room type - i don't like the foam caravan cushion beds) and an old gas stove/grill/oven. not a live in vehicle by any means, just to mess about in the summer.

Why not convert your own van,Its not hard.80 percent thinking about it

Mine took about 5 months and £3,500 but worth every penny

Its how i want it not somebody elses design

Loads of room back makes a double bed,Raised to give lots of storage under

Front seats have seat belts which lets me carry 5 ,And it is a rock and roll type so also converts to a double bed if needed

Looking good, folks. Keep them coming. Plenty of ideas to consider.

Would definitely do the conversion myself.

Interested to hear what electrics people use?

On another forum I put this thread on someone came up with a Unimog with something the size of a shed on the back. They manage to get an open canoe on and off it too!

Hi

I have a 125Ah battery in the back which is charged via a voltage sensitive relay.Once the voltage from the van alternater reaches over 13 volts it charges the leisure battery at the back and runs the fridge

240 volt mains hook up to run every thing on site, but the leisure battery never gets anywhere near flat
