Hi All

 

I have arrived here by the scenic route...

 

Mountaineering and canoeing lead to hammocking in the woods on my travels.

Hammocking lead to bushcraft.

Bushcraft lead me to carving, axe and knives.

Carving lead me to greenwood work.

Greenwood work lead me to coppicing and tree planting.

 

These days I am trying to improve my woodworking skills, knowledge of trees and wood and it's uses.

 

I am based in Essex and would like quit my current work, pro photographer for 30 years and move into working with trees somehow. I am too old to do the really physical stuff, sadly. The carving is addictive and I plan to do a lot more of that although greenwood is hard to come by.

 

I have made a couple of knives, blade, handle and sheath.

 

That's it I guess.
