When we used to pitch up i the field on an ad hoc basis there were a lot more people camping. To be fair this is the 1st year that camping is back on the agenda, times seem a lot tighter for many (I believe the gate was down this year), there are now more Arb shows to attend in a year, instead the AA Show being the main one. Many have held back travelling down for the AA Show, as we still have Justins show to come, think all these factors reflect the reason for the small number camping. The fact that many factors and issues were addressed following last years show is appreciated by many of us, and thanks to those who made the effort on our behalf. :thumbup1:

Did any of you look at the U20 that Alex Price had on display??

had a good look and a long chat with Alex about the U20 and its features . very very nice bit of kit , but then i guess it should be for 190k - that is a rough figure Alex gave me for the mog and chipper& front verge mower .

Never the less it looks an amazing bit of kit

i made the trip down but like steve said its too much cost for us northerners to go camping on every show as much as i would like to

how about holding the show alternately in different locations, one year in the south, the next in the north and so on and so forth?

I guess its too small a show to get some poleclimbing going on but as an annual show would be a possible investment with opportunity to demo pole rescues when there is no racing?

The Tree Partner guys demo'd some pole rescue techniques in the Stihl demo area as part of their timetable...

or was there a schedule clash between the demo's and the competitions that could be altered for next year so they dont run simultaneously? (if they did, i cant remember)

Hmmm lets see, up north we had Arb Fair North, in the middle we have the AA Show at Cirencester, and for down south there is FR Jones show in Kent. When at Arb Fair North, I heard that a notherner said it was too far to travel to, and he was an hour or so away?!?:001_rolleyes: How can it cost too much to camp at a show, the AA Show was a tenner, Arb Fair North was free and Jones Show is free.

Andy ,

If iwas that northerner then then arb fair north was 140 miles north of me and reports from the Friday was it was a poor show and to wait for another. The aa was 165 miles south of me so financially no real difference and an established show.

For me the apf has enough to do stall/display wise to justify camping over and Jonesies has been the one with the best social side to warrant camping plus at 245 miles each way is a bit far for there and back in the day

For me the aa was good, a bit more wood turning, chainsaw carving etc would be good but I will be there next year

Kev
