Where do we stand with this issue and how do we stop it???

I got kids playing on my stacked timber/ cord wood in a field next to public footpath, just wondered where we stand on the safety issue.

would you not be covered by having the little "do not climb on timber stacks" signs set in prominent places? perhaps accompanied by "private land keep off" and "please do not stray from the public footpath" :001_smile:

Without signage saying keep off etc you would probably be laible if something falls on them or even if they fall off. No win no fee legal sharks make life hard for small business.

Get some signs up pronto, it's called "due diligence", and will protect you if something happens, without them, you're a sitting duck as regards a compensation case.

This does worry me as my shed is right next to a footpath with no fencing around it, i put signs up saying no climbing/keep off but i still dont know how i would stand if somebody got hurt climbing/falling off it.

I did regret that comment after posting it :blushing: I was being flippant .. just growl at them and be a very scary person, of course this is after you have tried politeness and sensible reasoning
