Landy tipper vs transit tipper?

We've just swapped our 54 transit with Kev(and a fistfull of cash) for a 2000 130.

The 130 has a much smaller load then the transit

Is much less comfortable then the transit

Has no space in the cab - (make sure you have at least 1 small guy for the middle seat, or a lady with good legs)

Is MUCH more expensive to buy (but should hold it's value)

Over the last 7 years we have not had any major mechanical issues with our transits (we will wait and see with the land rover)

It does however look great and has the 4wd and towing ability etc.

For domestic work, I'd stick with a transit.

For us as our second vehicle used with our 6.5ton Iveco it's great! and it hasn't broken yet!

Kev, typing at the same time...

I'm glad your happy with the trade, is the transit coping with your hills? We're pretty flat round here!

As to a 110 or 130, the 110 is only a little bit lighter then the 130 what's 20 inches of chassis and a bit of ally side weight?

As to the turning circle of the land rover.......

Not had to drive it far with a decent load on yet so we will have to see. It is evidently down on power compared to the land rover but should be fine.

The back on the landrover is literally 3" longer ignoring the tool box (the grinder ramps don't quite lay flat in the transit) but the transit is 6" wider. The landrover has a lower roof on it on purpose - to stop us overloading it.

Other than the known TD5 issues (oil in the loom, leaking fuel pressure regulator, EGR crudding up, all cheap fixes) I had no real issues with the land rover in nearly 4 years
