logs for chimineas and barbecues

ive just started putting cards in local shop windows (wimbledon,kingston area) for chiminea and barbecue logs.

ive been very pleased with the out come im shifting quite a few nets of logs and kindling just wanted to know if any of you guys or selling firewood for chimineas there seems to be alot of people who have them.

What a bloomin good idea! Just out of interest and as i do not own one of them chiminea things myself, what size approx are the logs you are selling?

I have a whole stack of small stuff sat here that i could do with shifting.

no there not special logs there just smaller logs i ask a few of the tree boys who drop wood in too me to trim out some branch wood instead of putting though the chipper i cut it up put it nets and hey presto! chiminea logs! also there good for people with small open fires!

i sell small oak logs which are used in pizzaria oven type things, not in great amounts, only 2 customers have ever asked for them!! i dont advertise them, extra work in chopping so small!!! still havent been invited back for a proper stone cooked pizza either!!!!!!!!

We haven't really got into logs- mainly nearly giving them away as arb arisings.

This thread got me thinking mainly about how you get best bucks from getting your market right

Try and sell a bag of logs at a boot fair for £5 and I don't think you'd have many takers.

Sell the same bag at Dobbies Garden World and they would fly.

Maybe I should look more seriously at marketing to maximise returns:thumbup1:
