:confused1:would only take an hour i would say £150.....they are not as tall as they seem if that little ladder is 16ft then they are only 25ft.... its a piece of cake...if i priced that at more than £200 round here i would be laughed at

The way I look at stuff is not how long it would take but how many of them you would do in a day in different locations not too far apart.

If your saying it would only take an hour then that means you would do eight of them in a day?

150*8 =1200 thats a lot for a day!!

The fact that your pricing it at 150 means you know full well its a third to a half (maybe half a friday) of a day, as you would only do two or three of them in a day, so lets step pretending its an hours work, theres no such thing as an hours work!

Thing is, when you quote for jobs like those you are competing with a whole load of landscaper / gardener types for whom that is a big job and with their lower overheads they can often do it for less . I put a price on that I am happy with, If I don't get it then I wont be upset. I do get miffed sometimes when I loose out on bigger jobs but for the sake of 280 quid its not worth worrying.

What I want to know is how many hours have you wasted looking at and not getting poxy jobs like the above!!

I charge for domestic quotes further than 4 miles out, these days...

And if I 'ever' again hear the word conifer i'll just put the phone down on them !! haha

You work eight hour days :scared1:

Basic "non climbing" jobs like that are booked as half a day at £175 for me and a groundie, bring ropes into it and the rate goes up, bring lowering ropes into it and the rate goes up again.

And there is such a thing as an hours work at £60 per hour, including travelling time and tipping time because you can't teleport to a job :001_tongue:

Im quite jealous, would love to be able to turn work away, although a job like that is pretty easy, its when they want 4' off a thick conifer hedge and the stems are just too thick for the hedger that I'd really like to tell them to get someone else.

You work eight hour days :scared1:Well thats always the intention, staff work 8 hours so thats how things are priced.

Exactly so how much "work" would get done in that time?
