not getting into the morals of killing things, because I have done my fair share of that, but as TW says there must be wounded animals. Because that guy is such a good shot, when he misses it will not be by a foot, more like an inch. As I say, not against killing things, but not my cup of tea, and if I learnt the venison I was eating came all the way from NZ, I would push it away.

Great vid mike, what sort of cash will they make on a carcass? Must be hard to make the heli pay?

No idea on what the current price is,I had a look on the internet and it was $2.50 a Kilo late last year.When I knew a couple of shooters in Taupo,they had to get two Deer and hour to break even.

 

I don't think many operators are doing it full time.The Government will bring in Gunships when the Deer populations get too high though.
