Could be a number of reason why this happened, like those mentioned in previous posts. Anyway, should have put them through the chipper, get rid of the evidence! :001_tongue:

Haha, yeah probably a bit over the top.

 

Surely a quick look around the tree would have been enough to see that something was active in that hole.

If this thread had a diferent name say, ' A Close Shave ' and worded diferently it wouldnt be taking this route of Evil cowboys V Consevation Lover Tree Surgeons.:001_smile:

Found woodpecker chicks in a tree today, stopped above the nest, and when we left site I observed a parent re-entering the nest site.

Nothing to do with emotion Stevie. The law is the law as far as I'm concerned. If people can't conform to it then they shouldn't be doing this kind of work.
