Mine has just run out after 3 years, they sent me a letter but i aint getting a new one, well not until the E/A start pulling all of vans traveling around with scrap in and the blokes with a trailer and a mower doing grass.

The cornwall council definition is that if it is all WOODchip, NO leaves whatsoever, then its not waste...if they find but ONE leaf, then its waste......WTF?????

mine is timber for fuel and wood chip for pig bedding and i can prove that so it aint waste.

Probably...unless you are 'always' the waste producer and you only ever move chip between the site being worked and your registered 'exempt' woodchip site.

 

Been here a few times recently and 'woodchip', unless VIRGIN TIMBER (chip containing NO greenery / foliage / Leylandii clippings...AND no sweepings), is 'waste' and carries 3 seprarate entries on the european waste catalogue register (this is regardless of the usage recycling etc. you turn the product to...apparently!)

 

Hence definition of the 'waste producer', the fact that domestic residences are 'exempt' and other considerations need to be looked at to make the process as streamlined and unobtrusive as possible.

Here is the position statement from the EA as to what constitutes 'Virgin Waste'.

As can be seen, as long as the chip doesn't have too much foliage you are ok. I keep a copy in the van just in case we ever get pulled.......
