Has anyone else still got the fire lit

boiler broke last week:cursing: so yes the fire is lit, nearly used the last of the seasoned wood in the yard now (maybe 1cubic metre left), then its time to get next years wood split and seasoning nicely for winter.

ours have hardly been lit since the end of feburary and we only lit them to take the chill of the house and to stop burst pipes, when it was -20. i do have 2, 24 hour hot water bottles that are easy to use and they are green, Running on biomass, and they work

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

yes you may have gessed they are my dogs, i use to sneek my first one up stairs to my bed when every one else was alseep when see was a puppy i was 10, and now they both hardly eaver miss a night now, when i am at home and not at uni.

Lite the burner for the last few evenings - soon warms up the house, wife warm and dogs sleeping by the fire.

Had ours lit last night, bit warmer today though.

Just got back from being away all week and lit the old girl up just to get the water tank up to temp.

Am the same lite it every couple day normally after 5pm to have plenty of warm water for baths for kids, and to wash that stupid dog who likes to roll in deer **** when she finds smelly hound.

Not had ours lit for a bit but we have got cavity wall insulation and front of the house is SW facing so gets a lot of sun in the afternoon / evening.

 

Working away at the moment though, 30 degrees (Centigrade) at 5pm outside today...

 

Oh yeah, and the beer is about nine quid for a case of 20 x 500ml bottles of Warsteiner... :thumbup1:

Had guests round today so we lit ours about 10.30 this morning. Still going now although it's not that cold tonight.

I always intend to have a fire laid ready to light whenever needed but once I've laid it I find it a struggle not to light it straight away. And once it's lit I'm reluctant to let it go out. Must be something primeval in me.
