I haven't got oval carib so the clip allows more room for the eye to eye fc to snug in the carib and apart from not having more holes in the hitch climber pulley to fix in the end of my line its the same as a hc........? or am I being thick......

Nonetheless without the sheafed extension etc the line always had to be tended anyway but with extension and cord it does the job a treat without fatigue/pausing .

If I took away chord ,sheaf ,clip and red carib and put end of line on green carib and pulley it would be a hc, then I would be back to square one tending my line

This way with one clip of the green carib I am either in normal / ascending mode etc with never an unattached line.

or worry about a rope bridge recall

so it aint that messy or is it lol

started off working from both ends of the rope with a prussic tied off the tail so always been happy to change , just find this works

Happy to be slated though

another way of doing this is to just add a 50cm sling between you and your HC/VT system, then it works the same way for ascending, for working you just clip the bottom carabiner back to your bridge

Tried this today, work a treat, and i did not need to buy any extra equipment. It made returning on a long limb walk a joy.

I plan to do this with my lock jack. It really does make those long hauls easier. You don't need to tend your slack before you pause, plus as it's only 50cm you can reach your hitch.

A pantin and hand ascenders on your line under your hitch would make it even easier!

this is how i setup my o rig bro-this allows you to have the hitch next to you for close control (descent or going out on a branch) or away from you ( for ascending or returning in from a branch walk). you have to make sure your hitch works well and will bite without any adjustment. using a rope guide, pulley saver, etc and a revolver on your bridge makes this a very easy system to adjust without unclipping any carabiners. i prefer using the little hitch cord as an adjuster rather than a ropeman.
