I live in a relatively small town now, and at this stage of my life I don't think I would want to go more rural. I have lived in small country villages in Suffolk - they were beautiful and had great pubs but after a couple of years I felt I needed to get back to a bigger town. I always like the idea of a proper rural place to live but I know I am too much of a people person to stick out the isolation.

Had a spell of nearly 2 years living in a town, longest 2 years of my life! The night life was, shall we say "entertaining" though:sneaky2:

There's not many "working" villages left, they're all full of middle class commuters and retirees who've turned the places into a sort of sub-suburbia.

I now live in a village like this. Its full of managers of this that and the other, all have company cars and I'm one of the very few who doesnt go to work in a suit!

THEY LOVE ME! Lots of commercial vehicles, land rovers, building stuff on the drive, servicing very noisy machinery and having plenty of garden bonfires. Its great!
