I have been thinking recently about what to do with old chains, from a thread I started recently it sounds like most people don't do anything with theirs. Now I don't know how much it'd be worth but how about having an old chain bin at the shows(maybe on the arbtalk stand), all proceeds from weighing in the steel could be put towards buying books for loans. (no-ones allowed to pick through the bin looking for chains that'd be good for one last rub over either!!)

Why dont you put this money you have towards your own education, so you can get the job you keep moaning to everybody about that you cant get

im not talking mega bucks like 1400 annualy (student fees) a few books is no sweat, and anyone who feels that I am bitter needs to understand I am just fustrated, I know i have to get the quals, and am working on it, but i WILL NOT give up my contribution to arb just for the sake of my own career.

 

there are somethings that are more important than all us individuals.

Sounds like a great idea and will no doubt will be a success.

 

I would Make sure everyone has to post them recorded delivery, insured etc, they don't sound like cheap books to go missing in the post!

I dont want people to feel that they will be ultimately responsible for the books going missing and avoid borrowing them just in case they are expected to compensate.

 

Theres bound to be one or two mishaps along this road, but ultimately i think they will be rare losses, im testing this with the cheaper books to begin with, ones that can be easily replaced and are still in print or copies avaliable. If its working and no problems I will start to include more prominent books, maybe THEN when were talking books with a £100+ price tag we can think about insurances!

 

for n ow, lets keep it simple and show this lot some great books on trust.
