weight is the only benifit i can see....but its not really a benifit i think as you need weight to pull line through advanced hitches like a vt my 13 mm lines will pull through slack at lower heights than 11 mm lines wich i think is a benifit over a few pounds of weight in rope being hauled around a tree...maybe its a fashion thing??

I have never used 11mm, but I would imagine you can throw if further as its lighter.

Valid point,i can see that my 11mm line is nicer to throw as are my lighter throw bags, but in overall conditions it does not suite my lazy style of climbing!

11mm fits in a smaller bag, the tail end follows you round the tree nicer, it will even come over a branch with you especially if your using a hitch climber.

It hurts your hands though especially if you are big and/or old!

Arbormaster is possibly the best 13mm around. Hard wearing, long lasting, low stretch etc. I used it for rigging work all the time but it recently got stolen (I left it up a tree to return to after the weekend, silly mistake as next to a fishing lake with pikey types) so I'm thinking about getting some more as I really miss it!!

I was glad I didn't connect the retriever on my rope guide! That was still up the tree on the monday morning!

Arbormaster all the way,

i tried some blaze which milked a lot, as did my xtc.

The blaze also felt a bit small in my hands, i like the feel o 13mm ropes.

i've spliced both ends of my arbor master as it doesn't milk at all.
