Cs40-41. ?????? Insured ??

If a person does not have 40-41 and is dismantling a tree, has some sort of accident and insurance gets involved. Would they be insured? I have 40-41 but a lot of the 1 man bands and small companies round my way do not. I make a point of telling them I have the right u it's to do the job but they don't seem to mind.

It would be nice to get a definitive answer.

I have had different responses

but the ability to prove competency is the only requirement.

So how do you do that?

So in order to show your compitent you need a cert of comp ie a cs unit. If you don't have basic chainsaw units a person is unlikely to start off with getting insured. The insurance companies want to see your tickets when you sign on the dotted line.

the requirement from hse is proof of competency

some will say an lantra ITA is ok

some will say just experience

some will say on job training

But NPTC is the least hassle and standard proof of competency

More than 20 years and they wanted to see mine.

I was just wondering if they only asked for them if people say they have less than XXyears experience etc.

 

Never been asked to prove I have them but only used 2 different companies over the last 15 years.

 

Does seem odd that some get asked and some dont though.

I certainly know if your not qualified to drive my car your not insured:confused1:

 

When I took my driving test I didn't go on the Mway, tow a trailer, drive a 7.5 tonner or ride a 125 motorcycle, but my license entitled me to do them all.
