Taxi drivers

No he did about 65 or 70 over that. I warned him about the speed cameras that wait just beyond it in the lay by, and the paralell road that runs just after to put him off. All he said he does 80 a lot along there and never sees a copper or gets flack for doing it. I was only slightly drunk yet the trip home felt stranger than getting home and watching the walls spin in drinking season

I once got pulled by a copper in that layby, doing about 45mph at the time. Got let off with massive bollicking.

I did but he just carried on. He sort of looked like the bloke in the picture. Not native to england, put it that way

Have a rant at the company owner. They are probably well aware that their drivers sometimes speed, but they may be more interested in that the requests of one of their paying customers were ignored.

The bloke's a menace and might not even be driving legally

Taxi tariffs work primarily on distance not time.

As soon as a driver gets rid of a fare he is open to take another which means more earning, they tend not to hang about if they an avoid it.

oo Our ones are on meters So the slow the more they earn The fast the less they earn.

Are you sure about that?

There is a charge for waiting time but if they charged the whole journey on time taxis would be going at the speed of treacle in winter and a journey would never have the same fare twice, how can that be right?

Every taxi I have been in charges a fixed fee for getting in and the first distance then it goes to a set amount per mile

Our fairs start from £1.20 Private hire and adds 20p every 1min or so, So the faster the less 20p's get added the slower they go the more time it takes so the more 20p's get added they are not allowed to drive slower then 5mph below the speed limit if they are You report them to the taxi office and get a free lift on your next journey,That came from my uncle x taxi driver.

The taxis i get all have a digital meter.
