Hi. Has any1 bought or or used a chipper that has been bought from mason wood chippers? Seems to be 1 of the only outlets for refurbed second hand chippers in the country. I'm based in the south east. Any feedback would be handy. Ta

Yeah. Seems to have quite an extensive range of items for sale. And like u say must be doin something right to still be in buisness. Am lookin at a tracked timberwolf, has been fully refurbed with 900 hours on the clock, seemsa like alot, but have heard that the engines are fairly bulletproof, as long as the bearings are done every 4 to 5 hundred hours?:confused1:

Alan has been in the trade for many years, other people who do refurbs (total) include Thorne Engineers at Wheldrake near York, Global Sales in Brum have done a couple and I think Teeside Woodchippers have done a couple too. We have a couple which we can sell through our dealers but we tend to do the mechanical stuff more than the aesthetics.

i bought a used and apparantly refurbed front mount chipper for my mog few yrs back from them... nice paint job and decals.. but hadnt been refurbed at all.. main bearings went within 1st week and none of the drive belts had been changed and showed signs of wear... he did give me good price for my old 10inch greenmech though and delivered machine FOC.. just have good look over whatever machine you wanna buy and look beyond nice paint job..i bought mine over phone without viewing but didnt think i needed to as it was meant to be fully refurbed!

I've had two off him, both were excellent, they do tart them up with paint jobs though so its worth checking wether mechanical stuff has been done.
