Dear Hama

I can fully understand why much of the time you must feel like you are the sole voice in the wilderness ,trying to change the ways of the masses. In a way there may be an element of truth in it. But what you must realize is that in your posts against what you perceive as the uncaring mob, and their responses, an industry is being educated. Statisitically not many of the 1200 members of this forum are active posters. But if you look at the number of times posts are read you must quickly realize what a very valuable resource you all are in educating the industry.

No one comes on this forum because they have been instructed to.No, we are hear to learn about the industry ,and add to our individual knowledge base, and from time to to have a chuckle along the way.In many of our eyes you are a leading light in that process. We all have times of doubt ,when we wonder why we carry on. I am sure I speak for thousands of forum members when I say we need you to continue to bring things before our eyes. Maybe it is time the forum members put a collective hand in pockets to fund research projects by those forum posters we collectively think worthy....... How about a poll on that folks ??

I will always be here for that end, i dont need the money, the glory nor accolade, just those, that like frank have embarked on the path to a truly enlightened state, benr, chris cnc xerxses etc etc etc brushcutter, so many i cant name you all, but know that I know you, who you are and where you are.

I will never stop what i do here, i dont do it for any other reason than to know when I visit the ancients i can walk with ease and not a heavey heart.

I dont believe in god, but I do believe in the emotional connection I have with the natural world and particulary trees, ancient trees and fungi, I will depart from this world knowing that there are so many people now also walking down a path i started 15 years ago, and that makes me happy.

Going off on a slight tangent, havent trees only been about for the last 250 million years or so?

If so praise the algae of the ancient world.:001_tongue:

I think the gymnosperms have been around a lot long than that :)

no that is the route of other things, but not evil, for essentialy religion is not the problem, it is mans interpretations and fervour that causes the ills.

ok, mans interpretation of religion

but isn't that were are lot of problems are caused... interpretation.

ones mans thoughts and ideas can cause offence to another

the way an individual thinks and learns and then makes judgements is mostly human nature.

some one on here had a good quote

"The wise man lives life with an open mind, without attachment to his own ideas and perspectives totally prepared to be proven wrong at any minute and have his life's work disproven by someone who's thinking outside the box"

and from what i've read hama, you seem to follow this to an extent but you can never change everybody so don't beat yourself up and keep up the good work:thumbup:
