Don't be like that: I've been extolling the virtues of this process to anyone who'll listen. I now have a queue of three trees awaiting the treatment so can do without egg on my face thank you very much:001_tongue:

Further I've also converted the owner of a large landscaped garden to chipping instead of burning; he now has several heaps of chip awaiting winter dispersal. So a big big smiley after that comment please.:biggrin:

think you know the cyber me enough by now Jon, to realise that was a very tongue in cheek comment :biggrin:

 

The tree is doing well enough and is set to be subject of some guidance on veteran orchard tree management.

I still find this thread a huge feelgood, especially as I've had a similar result with an 8' tall apple!:blushing:

David, when you say micorrhizal are you saying youve located nodes? or fruiting bodies? was I mistaken in thinking Pear is endo or maybe ectendro (undetermined )
