i do not like the look of the stihl ms441, to much to go wrong with it in my opinion...

 

so if you could get hold of an old 044 or ms440 your problem would be solved, a truely great chainsaw

 

or get a ms460 a hell of a saw

Steve have you got hydraulic take off on your skidder ??? hydraulic saws are ment to have loads of grunt.

 

I have also on tractors and possibly on the splitter. Will send u a pm in a sec.

just out of interest what is the sound restriction problem about?

 

Can you not put up a couple of heras barriers with a couple of sheets of sterling board to reduce noise in one particular direction?

Big 880 and massive bar haha may not be quiet but at least be fun whilst doing It

 

I think a large saw with 25 inch bar may be quieter than a medium size saw screaming for longer What do we think :thumbup1:

In the last 6 months I've had a ms362 with a 18" bar and I've been very impressed with it. I am sure that with a 25" it would be good for this application.

 

No! That's like heating a warehouse with a toaster.

 

i think a 25" bar on a 362 is gonna be sluggish as hell. get a proper size saw, ms460 up.

MS460 with 18 and 25" = done.
