I doubt it, look at his other posts:001_smile:

I'd say perhaps Mr Brown just isn't so eloquent or otherwise less able to convey his thoughts to text?

As to his actual meaning in the above post I too am somewhat baffled...

I read it as, even though some people are sometimes gruff with others and question their abilities or methods they also have a valid contribution to make so it is better to put up with their attitude than ban or censor them. His name is Mr Bown not Brown by the way :001_rolleyes:

Thats kinda how I read it . Other useful stuff is borne out of the squabbling.....

My opinion is that bullying and flaming are very specific things far closer in character to abuse and rape etc. than squabbling. They are about power over not about back and forth evenhandedness just like rape is known to be far more about power over than about sex.

If this is the case then it is better (more impowering) for the community to say we will not tolerate this than for the community to go to the victim and say, are you ok with it?

Any sound functioning adult can control themselves. If they are told that x is not acceptable behavior and they make the choice to continue - THEY have selected themselves out.

If we chose who will be our companions and contempararies in life based on their value to us in this endevor or that then criminals and some of the worst leaders in history would be what we surrounded ourselves with oftentimes.
