if its only tracked to the connector the loom is or was around £50 plus fitting which you can do yourself if your good on spanners or couple of hours at dealer ! quick fix is to use electrical cleaner on the plug / socket see if it make difference and go from there there are cases where its bad and filled half the ecu up with oil ! ;(

It's not that expensive if caught early. The loom for the injectors sits within the rocker cover and a design fault means the seals fail and oil runs down the loom into the ecu.

A new loom section is about £35 and takes 30 minutes to change.

Also a known issue is the fuel pressure regulator, google the discovery2 site, there is a workshop section which lists some known issues with the TD5 engine

Check the turbo hoses are tight and there aren't any holes in them, even a small hole will make it run badly.

My td5 had very similar symptems and I tried all the useual stuff, crank sensor, MAF, filters etc, etc. In the end it was a split turbo pipe. Little bugger was hard to spot as well.

Evening all, my Td5 has been acting strange, it seems to have lost power especialy in the morning when cold, when warm it seems like the turbo aint kicking in, when im pulling my chipper on its trailers it just doesnt have the go it used to. Any one any ideas? cheers all.:001_smile:

Sounds like to me that the airflow meter has gone weve changed loads of them in work. doesnt sound like the injector wiring has gone they usally start missing when that happens.abit of advise dont go for a cheap airflow meter (fuel parts)(intermotor) they wont last 6months.get a genuine one. does the fuelpump sound ok when you turn the ignition on?
